The idea behind modular design in color, print & pattern is taking the approach of subdividing shapes and shades that can work independently or together to create multiple different patterns or color stories. We are seeing that as a trend in the next upcoming season - conceptually and literally. Conceptually in how consumers are mixing and matching old with new in a cleaner way. Literally where geometric patterns are on the rise - not just small tight patterns, also big and large that can be used as color blocking or another way to engineer a pattern. These geo patterns can either stand alone by themselves or mixed together to create a new type of medallion or abstract.
