Functional fashion. Rugged and worn to stand the elements. This idea is inspired being prepared and purposeful to be with the constant engagement and flux in surroundings. We are traveling faster and further than ever. Making it possible to be in all the elements and multiple time zones in one day. This trend is not about survival or survival gear. It is more about how to dress to engage with our environment, whether that is outdoors, in the gym, happy hour or the next big gala. This is not a serious trend either. It is a more conscious look at how to take our surroundings and be inspired to live with it rather than creating hard edges or boundaries. Textures and shapes are mixed together to create a visually tactile and multi-level aesthetic. Color, patterns and detail is inspired by what is naturally around us. Precise in functionality and haphazard outfitting as the wearer feels necessary.
